The fireplace in any home is both a figurative and literal source of warmth and it’s the kind of area that you really want to make pleasant to be around and look at, simply because it’s one of those areas that can’t be covered up or overlooked. Before, this fireplace was bland and left the homeowners bored with its lack of aesthetic design.

The fireplace extends off the side of the house (think chimney climbing up the side of a house – the firebox is in that chimney, outside the room, which is why it’s inefficient). Depending on how much you want to spend, you can opt to completely redo your fireplace or simply repaint the bricks or accent.
Before its remodel by Nathalie Tremblay of Atelier Cachet, a dull white surround and beige wall did nothing to highlight this fireplace. Others will remove some of or the entire existing facing surface before installing new facing stone. Your remodeling can be drastic like tearing down your old fireplace and replace it with a new one which is the more costly option and will require skilled labor like a professional mason skilled in fireplace remodeling.
This kitchen remodel also by Craftsman Design and Renovation uses Pratt and Larson field tile combined with a leaf mural and a geometric border by Metolius Ridge Tile Mixing the styles strikes a balance between the traditional craftsman glass fronted cabinets and the modern stainless appliances, tying everything together.
